This unique cohort study following young Swedes into adulthood is about to enter it's third phase of data collection. The project is conducted by SUDA's prominent collaborator, professor emeritus Eva Bernhard.

This Series involves a number of distinguished international lecturers in different fields of Demography and is part of the course "Family Dynamics in a Changing Europe".

Note that the first hour is devoted to presentation of the lecturer and is open for everyone to attend, and the second hour is intended for student discussion.

SUDA has the pleasure to lauch a new Demography Colloquium Series that gives SUDA scholars the opportunity to present their work at the early stages of its development and to receive comments and suggestions from colleagues.

2007-08-22 Advanced Demographic Methods: An Introduction to Event-history Analysis

After a pause of several years, SUDA once more offers an introduction to event-history techniques. During this fall, we provide a course with training in analyses of duration data. The course comprises lectures and computer-based exercises based on different types of demographic data.

The course is provided in English and at half time during weeks 40-49 2007. Application deadline September,15. More information here.

2007-07-25 Family Dynamics in a Changing Europe

SUDA offers a transatlantic course in European Family Dynamics in cooperation with University of Wisconsin-Madison with parallel sessions at UW-Madison and Stockholm University. Lectures will be given by prominent international experts in the field and transmitted by means of video conferences across the Atlantic, with some lecturers appearing live in Stockholm and some in Wisconsin. Students at both universities will participate in course discussions.

The course is provided in English and at half time during weeks 39-50 2007. Application deadline September,10. More information here.

The Demography Unit at the Department of Sociology offers a two-year multidisciplinary Master Programme in Demography in cooperation with the Departments of Economics, Economic History, Human Geography and Statistics starting the fall semester of 2007.

Also starting the fall semester of 2007 is a one-year Interdisciplinary Magister Course in Demography.
