During the spring three PhD candidates at SUDA or affiliated to SUDA have presented their thesis ideas in start-up seminars. First out was Filip Wigselius presenting his thesis ideas about how social factors effect gender differences in mortality in Sweden. Ari Jónsson is working on Icelandic data and presented his research ideas on fertility and family dynamics in modern Iceland. SUDA-affiliated Anna-Karin Nylin presented her research interest that focus around earnings differential between partners and between families following childbirth and separation.
