Master´s Programme in Demography 60 credits

60 ECTS (1 year)

The aim of the one-year Master’s Programme in Demography is to familiarise students with the skills to describe, analyse and explain population development in its various aspects – the main tasks of demography (population studies). The programme consists of a 15-credit thesis and 45 credits coursework. Core courses comprise 22,5 credits and are compulsory for all students. In addition, 22.5 ECTS credits are taken in elective courses, offered by any of the participating departments and CHESS. Of these elective credits, 15 must have a demographic component and 7.5 can be taken in a course without a demographic component. See the Master’s Programme Handbook for more information.

Educational entry requirements: Bachelor’s degree in economic history, economics, human geography, sociology, statistics or equivalent.

The deadline for applications for entrance into the Master’s Programmes beginning in Fall 2012 has passed. The application deadline for the Master’s Programmes beginning in Fall 2013 will be April 15, 2013 for residents of the EU/EEA area and January 15, 2013 for non-residents.
